5 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari: Lake Mburo, Gorillas in Bwindi, and Golden Monkeys in Mgahinga

The 5-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Trekking adventure begins at Entebbe international Airport in Uganda and ends in Kigali airport of Rwanda.

Day 1: Pickup from the Entebbe airport and transfer to the hotel for overnight:

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional driver or guide from G S Uganda Travel (Gorilla Safaris Uganda) who will be holding a signboard with your name for easy identification. After a brief introduction and assistance with your luggage to the car, you will embark on a comfortable transfer to your hotel. Along the way, your guide will provide a brief overview of Entebbe airport & city, share insights about Uganda and related updates on the country, ensuring a smooth and engaging start to your safari holiday trip.

Once at the hotel, you will be assisted with check-in and given time to settle into your room. The evening will be at your leisure, allowing you to rest after your journey or explore the hotel’s facilities like: bars, restaurants, swimming pool, gym etc what ever is available . Overnight stay at the hotel in Entebbe, preparing for the adventures ahead..

Day 2: Drive to Lake Mburo national park wildlife Safaris Tour Uganda.

We drive from Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park, located in the Southern part of Uganda in Lyantonde district along Masaka-Mbarara road. Just this journey has a lot for you to see and you stop along the way to witness some of the largest banana plantation farms. You will also make stops at Mpambire to see the Royal Drum Makers at their craft. You will be taken to the point (equator line) where the northern and southern hemispheres of the world separate with each other. Stand over the equator line take photographs and experiment.

Before reaching the park, have a magnificence of the game drive and arrive in time for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. The acacia forests and wetlands are home to an impressive variety of antelopes including: impalas and giant eland. Zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes and others.  The lake is rich with a variety of animals and plant species which will be viewed clearly as on the boat trip. Expect to see a herd hippos, crocodiles and birds like Black crake, Heron, Pelicans, fish eagle, African Finfoot, cormorant, you may also sight the rare Shoebill Stork and more. Retire for dinner and overnight.

Day: 3 Morning game drive transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After an early breakfast, we check out of the lodge and set off for a game drive through the park, renowned for its rich biodiversity. The park is home to approximately 68 species of mammals, including impalas, jackals, buffaloes, elands, leopards, topis, hyenas, giraffes, and zebras. After enjoying the wildlife and bidding farewell to the park staff, we continue our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with scenic view upon arrival, we settle in and relax in preparation for the next day’s adventure.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Nkuringo or Rushaga sector)

After Morning breakfast, we group up for briefing at the park headquarters at 7:30 am and by 8:00am we enter the Jungle to enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Continue through dense bush to trek for the mountain gorillas. Other primates also live in the forest including the black-and-white colobus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee. This can be very tiresome due to the fact that the ground is steep, muddy and thickly forested, sometimes with rain over, therefore a good physical condition is recommended, relaxation in evening or have an optional community walk.

Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking in mgahinga forests and Transfer to Kigali airport.

Begin your day with an exciting golden monkey tracking experience in Mgahinga National Park. Accompanied by an expert guide, venture into the forest to observe these rare and playful primates in their natural habitat. Learn about their behavior, unique characteristics, and the conservation efforts aimed at protecting them. After the tracking activity, return to your lodge for a brief refresh and lunch before embarking on a scenic drive to Kigali International Airport Rwanda via Kyanika boarder.
